Concept Development

The process of crystallizing an abstract, preliminary idea into a produceable garment or accessory. To do this we partner with the client to think through the brand story, design aesthetics, and functional properties of the garment(s). The end result being a fashion sketch that captures all of the aesthetic and functional qualities of the client’s preliminary idea. This fashion (design) sketch informs both pattern design and sample development.

Pattern Making

The art of creating a flat template, made of paper or card stock, based on a design idea or fashion sketch. Every garment consists of multiple pattern pieces. They are the key instruction guides for cutting separate pieces of a garment. These templates are used to mass produce an article of clothing. The pattern is the foundation of all apparel.

Sample Production

A sample is a product prototype based on a pattern and or tech pack that incorporates all functional, aesthetic, and fit specifications of a clothing design. This includes fabric, trim and hardware. It is the design idea made into a physical product. The final sample is replicated during mass production becoming the product line.

Tech Pack Development

A tech pack is a technical document containing all the details of your apparel design(s). An essential document for designers and manufacturers, it communicates every technical detail of a garment (ie garment dimension, seam allowance, zipper height & placement, etc). Creating a comprehensive road map for the manufacturer.
